Job Description |
The National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), a 3,000+ member non-profit association of family researchers, educators and practitioners, has created a new Membership and Marketing Director position. As a member of the senior management team, this position will manage a 3-person staff and is responsible for planning and directing all membership and marketing activities, including, member acquisition and retention strategy, communications and the production of an annual conference.
The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with a minimum of 7 years experience in association membership, marketing and conference planning, with a minimum of 5 years at the management level. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, non-profit management or a closely related field is required. A master’s degree is preferred and a Certified Meeting Planner designation is desirable. The individual will be an energetic, creative, resourceful professional with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong marketing aptitude and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

The Minnesota Land Title Association, a non-profit trade association, is currently seeking candidates for a new part time administrative opening. This position will provide professional clerical support for the association and its members. If you are aware of any candidate with skills and experience similar to those listed below, please contact us.
The role of the Executive Assistant would include the following responsibilities:
- The Executive Assistant will report to the Secretary/Treasurer of the Association.
- Provide administrative support to Association and Board activities. This may include print and distribution of membership materials, such as ballots, publications, division and interest group materials.
- Provide support for annual conventions of the Association. Convention support may include exhibitor communications and coordination; and work with the convention Planning Committee to ensure continuity and efficiency for each convention, including creation and maintenance of a convention planning manual. Assist with onsite registration, set up and coordination of Convention.
- Provide support for the Education Committee. Education Committee support may include obtaining course approvals and all licensing requirements for course accreditation with the Department of Commerce and State Bar Association. Coordinate instructors and facilities for education courses and seminars. Assist in the creation of an MLTA Title Insurance accreditation program for closers and examiners. Print training materials, prepare Power Point presentations for course instructors. Assist with registration, set up and on-site coordination of courses and seminars.
- Provide support for the Technology Committee. Technology Committee support may include monitoring and maintaining website content and format. Maintain membership database. Maintain master meeting and event calendar. Publish meeting and event notices for committees and Board.
- Support other Committees of the Association as needed.
- Provide support for the Secretary/ Treasurer. Such support may include assistance in the following duties:
- having accounts audited annually and provided audit reports to the Board;
- distributing Board and Committee meeting minutes;
- maintaining the Association's membership in other associations;
- attending MLTA Board and Committee meetings;
- updating and maintaining the Bylaws of the Association, and distributing them to all incoming officers and directors of the Association;
- maintain membership lists;
- send out annual dues statements.
- Other administrative duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Knowledge of and/or experience with professional associations and/or other nonprofit organizations or Knowledge of and/or experience in the title insurance or real estate industry;
- organizational skills, including demonstrated attention to detail;
- ability to take initiative and be a self-starter;
- ability to efficiently schedule time and activities;
- ability to maintain effectiveness in varying environments and with varying tasks, responsibilities, or people;
- excellent oral and written communication skills;
- demonstrated computer skills, including Word, Excel and Power Point
- flexibility to travel to meetings as required by Board of Directors;
Salary:
$25,000 - $35,000 (Depending on Experience)
The Board of Directors (or its Executive Committee) shall annually evaluate the Executive Assistant's performance of his/her duties.
A bonus package may be established to provide additional compensation based upon membership increases, attendance numbers at courses, seminars and/or conventions, etc.
